In 2022, we established a regional program with Fulbright France to promote applications to Louisiana and foster research exchanges between France and Louisiana.

Through this program, we award a complementary scholarship of $1,500 each year to Fulbright France laureates who choose to come to Louisiana for a research stay (in addition to their regular stipend). Laureates who choose to go to another state but may be interested in coming to Louisiana for a short research stay (one week) may also be awarded this complimentary scholarship to cover part of their travel expenses.

We create tailored programs for all our laureates based on their research interests. We also invite them to meet high-level cultural and research actors during their stay in Louisiana to develop long-term collaborations between Louisiana and France.

APPLICATION PROCESS

• Interested applicants should apply through the dedicated Fulbright France platform (for the specific programs they are interested in). Applications will be open from September to December 2026. We invite you to consult Fulbright’s website for more information regarding your eligibility.

• Fulbright will invite eligible applicants to apply for this complementary scholarship. They will be notified of their selection in September 2026.
