This Halloween, step through the looking glass and into the enchanted world of Jean Cocteau.
Poet, filmmaker, painter, playwright, and designer, Cocteau was one of France's most imaginative and influential artists of the 20th century. His 1946 masterpiece La Belle et la Bête (Beauty and the Beast) remains a landmark of French cinema, celebrated for its theatrical beauty, living candelabras, and haunting sense of enchantment.
For one night only, we're bringing that dreamlike vision to a hidden mansion in the heart of the French Quarter. Guests will be immersed in a cinematic experience that pairs Cocteau's footage with contemporary music from a live DJ, blurring the line between film and fantasy.
Come in costume. Surreal attire is strongly encouraged. Arrive as a Belle, a Bête, or something wonderfully in between. Prizes will be awarded for the most spellbinding looks.
Raise a glass. Enjoy an open bar featuring champagne, wine, and cocktails throughout the evening.

MEET YOUR HOST
Chloë Cassens represents the Severin Wunderman collection, the largest in the world of works by the artist Jean Cocteau. Her perspective on Cocteau is singular, as she is Wunderman’s granddaughter. An in-demand expert and scholar of Cocteau, she has spoken to audiences at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice; L’Alliance in New York City; the British Film Institute in London; the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles; and many more. Chloë has been featured in Le Monde, Tatler, The Observer, and the New York Times has called her “The Little Scorpion of the French Riviera.” Her writing has appeared in periodicals such as A Rabbit’s Foot, 7Hollywood, and S&M Magazine.
Chloë was born in Los Angeles and raised between L.A., Switzerland, and France. She received a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Barnard College. She lives in Los Angeles and Paris with her dachshund, Louis.
